We have had a working relationship with the Republican
National Committee's two new publications MONDAY and
THE REPUBLICAN similar to that I had with Frank X Leonard
during the campaign, except that Frank now works for the
RNC. This office helped to develop the concept of the
publication and is checking points for Frank concerning
policy and tone.
Since Frank began MONDAY, I have provided him with a
schedule of events, including key speeches by Cabinet
and Sub-Cabinet members, which he may wish to use for
his summary "Week of (date) Who What Where When. "
Frank tells me this feature of upcoming events has
received more favorable comments than any other single
part of the publication.
We have almost daily communications with Frank when he
is in town. Our system generally works this way: Early
in the week when Frank comes to town, we give him items
from the current week's schedule which may make good short
articles for MONDAY (Example: this week I suggested he
check with Agriculture for more information on Hardin's
Listening Conferences) On Thursday, after we have gone
