A special Train "W-2" is scheduled to depart Union Station for this purpose. In order to be seated and ready at departure time you should plan to arrive at Union Station no later than 7:30 a.m. The Secretary's cars will be appropriately marked and we will have people there to direct you to the proper car. For your convenience, parking space has been arranged at the park- ing lot on the corner of First and D Streets N.E., Washington, D. C. The entrance to the parking lot is on First Street N.E. between D Street and Massachusetts Avenue, which is within easy walking distance of Union Station. If you use this parking arrangement, please place the enclosed card on the right hand corner of your windshield for ready identification. Coffee and breakfast pastry will be available on boarding the train and a light lunch will be served enroute to Philadelphia. Refreshments will also be provided during the game and a light supper will be served during the return trip to Washington. November 25, 1972 PL/NIXON PL/ST 47 FOR JANA Attached are two bills which recently came in from the X Olympic Hotel in Seattle, Would you please call Claude Bekins' office in Seattle and determine whether or not these bills have been paid. If necessary write him another letter for my signature which forwards these bills on to him. It was part of the deal of Ehrlichman coming out there and doing the fund-raiser for the Governor, that the Re-elect Committee would pick up the hotel bills. Would you please do whatever you can to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. Tod R. Rep Finan Women's Dear Congressman: Many thanks for your note of the 14th inviting me to address the Lincoln Day Dinner in Peoria on February 12th. I am honored to have your invitation and wish 1 could give you a definite answer at this time. However, it's a little too early to commit for a speaking engagement in February. If the Women's Club requires an answer now, I'm afraid it would have to be negative. I don't know if a trip to Peoria will materialise by then or not, but if it does I'll be back in touch with you. Best personal regards and best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season. Yours sincerely, John D. Ehrlichman Assistant to the President for Demestic Affairs Honorable Robert H. Michel U. S. Ehrlichman Assistant to the President for Domestic Affairs The White House Washington, D.C. 20500 Dear John: During the recent campaign, Mrs. Ehrlichman came to Peoria and made a tremendous hit. In the course of her remarks, she mentioned that you often refer to Peoria during your conversations in a friendly manner and, therefore, the Peoria County Republican Women's Club has asked me to extend an invitation to you to come to Peoria on the evening of February 12th for their Lincoln Day Dinner. This would not be a fund-raising dinner but in the words of the Club president, the purpose of the dinner is to "preserve a continuing interest in the Party and to promote good feelings rather than to make money. " I would certainly make a special effort to get home myself for that occasion to introduce you to the gathering and hope you can make it. The Club, of course, will pay expenses and Ozark Airlines has a direct flight from Dulles Airport to Peoria. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Robert Bet Michel Member of Congress RHM: vbm
