Dear Term:
Many thanks for your note of the third. I've
been on the read since it arrived, but I appre-
cinte your moral support and, of course,
your kind If self-serving comments about the
Trojans on the staff. But I'm a Bruin tool
Keep me off that fund-raising Hot!
Best personal regards.
Yours sincerely,

Dear John:
A brief note to intrude on what happens to be
one of the world's most busy schedules, and to
express our appreciation indirectly to Newsweek
for the publicity regarding the number of Trojans
on the White House staff.
I feel complimented that Mr. Nixon saw a
sufficient quality in so many Trojans to put them
in such key positions.
The reporting was obviouly not in the. depth
it could have been, in that Ehrlichman and Halde-
man are designated as graduates of USC and class-
mates at that.
I know that you are a Washington and Stanford
man and that Bob is a Bruin. In any event, we are
complemented to claim both of you guys too, and
will be happy to add you to our Alumni Fund solic-
itation program this year. As you know, it is
cochaired by our other alumnus not mentioned in
the article, the lovely and gracious Mrs. Richard
Nixon.
Good luck on your endeavors and we'll be
sitting up with you in spirit next Tuesday evening
watching the returns.
Cordially,
Thomas P. Nickell, Jr.

Dear Professor Grub:
Thank you very much for your thoughtful note of Novem-
ber 27 in which you expressed interest in the election in
the State of Washington in 1074.
It was most kind of you to write and offer your asistance
in campaigning on my behalf; however, I really have no
aspirations to riective office. I am sure I won't be running
for the Senate, but please know that I am grateful for your
offer.
Best regards.
Yours sincerely,
John D. Ehrlichman
