MEMORANDUM FOR
H. R. HALDEMAN
The speech as drafted is as rough as a cob --
it can be salvaged and something strong and
tough made out of it, but don't write it off
simply because of its currently brutal
character. We have some specific quotes
and thoughts in there that can be honed and
used properly, and I have some morematerial
that can be added that will be good and pertinent.
It is now a hard, fast. -writted draft trying to
be all-inclusive. Instead of the meat-ax, the
rapier can be used in almost every case which
will make it more effective.
As it is -- it might bring down a good call
for several impeachments -- let alone one
immediate firing.
Our research department has not cleared off
on this at this point either.
