Reunion of World War II Associates
The pulling together of names of your World War II friends and
associates, without giving away the tentative plan for a stag
reunion/reception here at the White House later this month,
is taking longer than we thought it would and from current
indications we will not reach the desired goal of "about 200"
invitees.
You will find below status reports on the lists being developed
along with some questions which I hope you will be able to answer
this weekend SO that by Tuesday or Wednesday we can make final
arrangements for the event this month, postpone the reunion until
later in the summer or forget it until after the Election.

The Quonset Group (Tabs A and B) @ Here we are batting
zero. Bill Rogers has reviewed these lists (faculty and
students) and is unable to give me any names of persons
who even sound familiar. He said that the course was a
quick one and that he doubts that any lasting or near-lasting
friendships were made while it was in session. You may
want to flip through the Tab A and B pages to see if any of the
names there ring a bell. That, I think, would be much
preferable to our caling people at random.

The Ottumwa Group (Tab C) - Retired Captain Gurley, who
lives in Coronado, has been very helpful
as have
Captain and Mrs. Randecker. It is my feeling that this
list is complete.
