THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN K 93d CONGRESS 1st SESSION H. RES. IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Mr. Landgrebe submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on RESOLUTION Whereas Egypt and Israel have signed a cease-fire agreement to end the recent fighting in the Middle East; and Whereas the signing of this agreement is the first time since 1949 that representatives of Egypt and Israel have met in serious negotiations; and Whereas the efforts of President Nixon have been instrumental in achieving the acceptance of the cease-fire agreement by Egypt and Israel: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Represen- tatives that-- (1) President Nixon should be commended for his handling of the Middle East crisis; and (2) Congress and the people of this country should continue to support President Nixon's efforts to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East.
