State Dining Room
THE PRESIDENT:
BACKGROUND
The First Lady is hosting a luncheon for the "Senate ladies Red Cross
group". The criterion for membership in this group is to be a wife,
former wife, or widow of a member of the Senate. Mrs. Dwight Eisenhower
and a number of Cabinet wives will also be in attendance.
The approximately 110 ladies will arrive at the White House at 1:00 p.m.
and be received formally by the First Lady in the Blue Room. At 1:30
they will be served luncheon in the State Dining Room.
SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
1:45 p.m.
You proceed to State Dining Room where ladies will be
finishing the first course.
1:47 p.m.
You enter State Dining Room and proceed directly to
position in front of the fireplace and deliver brief
greetings to the assembled guests (suggested greetings
attached).
A single stand-up microphone will be brought out from
the side to record and amplify your remarks. However,
there will be no Press coverage.
1:50 p.m.
Greetings conclude.
Depart State Dining Room and return to Oval Office.
