I am grateful for your award -- but I am not the one who
should be receiving it.
I. You, after all, are the frontline soldiers in our
fight against cancer.
(I) The Government can help to provide resources,
but you are the ones who do the work.
I know that biomedical research and treatment is a notoriously
uncertain enterprise.
I. No one can control -- or even predict -- how fast
it will go or just where it will lead.
(1) But we can control our own contribution to
its progress.
I. We can be sure this progress is not delayed
because of too few resources or too much
red tape.
