Saturday 27 April 1974 MEMO FOR THE PRESIDENT FROM: RAY PRICE Raf2 SUBJ: WATERGATE SPEECH The seventh draft is attached. This is a somewhat new version that finally evolved in an overnight session at the typewriter last night, in which I was trying to wrestle out some better and more direct way of handling it in terms of the latest decision on what we would and wouldn't make public. My first reaction on reading it over this morning is that the basic structure works pretty well, though it needs a fair amount of polishing and sharpening in places. You'll note there's a place left for "quotes to come." I was racing for the chopper, and didn't get them pulled together, but I think we've got some pretty goods ones that could go there if you want to use some. I left copies down in Washington for A1, Ron, Buzhardt and St. Clair.
