NBC made it three nights in a row with film coverage of Muskie.
Tonight he explained why it was necessary for all disaster relief, public
and private, to be distributed under the direction of a single agency.
Also footage of folks arguing about whether the Red Cross discriminated
on a racial basis in the distribution of disaster relief. SBA sharply
criticized by both white and black.
UNEMPLOYMENT

negro unemployment lowest since Korean war -- 5.5% -- largely down
among negro females.

gas. Footage of Governor McCall, who says he wants RN to get the
gas out of his state, but NBC interviews with local residents in the
area where it is stored indicated that they aren't much concerned.
In fact, they don't like the folks who are protesting about it; seems they
are the same bunch who are always protesting against the war in Vietnam.
POLLUTION
CBS report from mountain area 60 miles from Los Angeles and a
mile above sea level where pollution is so bad that it is killing the trees.
