MEMORANDUM
THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
February 1, 1972
ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL
MEMORANDUM FOR:
CHUCK COLSON
FROM:
BRUCE KEHRLI
BOK
SUBJECT:
Plesser Poll
The February 1, 1972 News Summary contained the following
note:
- But Time reports a poll by Plesser which
indicates RN's speech was very timely. The
number regarding the war as a "leverage"
issue was up to 42% from 26% 6 months ago.
Thus, to the nation, the war was still going
on and RN faced a rough time, said Plesser.
In fact, he faces a relatively rough time no
matter who runs against him -- 33% are firmly
anti-RN voters. And in West (Wash., Oregon,
Cali., ) RN trails 59-33 to Muskie with 42%
firmly anti-RN. --
It was requested that you note the underlined figures and prepare
a brief analysis of Plesser, his organization and techniques.
Please forward this report to the Office of the Staff Secretary
by February 7, 1972.
Thank you.
