wording of letters sent to warrant officers --
including her husband who has served 22 years --
telling them to retire or be released. "The Army
is its own worst enemy, 11 said Mrs. Willett as
she noted her past efforts to improve its image.
Armed Forces Journal, the nation's oldest
military mag, urged that the Navy's next carrier
be named for M. L. King altho it recognized
some in the service and some civil rights leaders
might be "aghast." But the privately-owned mag
feels such a move would recognize the progress
made by the once lily-white Navy.
