The North Vietnamese are on the march. Anyone who has been
following the news closely in recent days cannot have missed that
message. Monday it was driven home on most front pages with stories
of NVN reserve division being moved out of the North onto the Ho Chi
Minh Trail.
On the economic front, Dems aren't giving up on causing us trouble
over the deficit and are trying to force us to admit taxes must go up.
No takers yet despite some rough days on Hill for our team. And the
fate of the control program continues to be uncertain -- Gallup Poll on
public dissatisfaction and other similar indices aren't the opinion of
the experts -- but this confusion and uncertainty continues to prevail
among people at large.
JACK ANDERSON -- According to Marquis Childs - - and other
reports - - "The source of that leak (the Anderson papers) is known.
What to do about it is another matter with no one in the Administration
prepared to take action. This raises an interesting question since the
documents seem to have come out of the Pentagon". This is a certain
question at the next press conference.
CONNALLY -- Continued reports that the Treasury Secretary may
be headed back to the ranch. They keep cropping up.
KISSINGER -- Profile higher than ever with cover of both news
magazines.
