Renewed tensions in Wounded Knee as an FBI agent is shot
and marshals again ring the town w/CBS calling a peaceful
settlement further away than ever. Arrest warrants issued
for some of top AIM leaders on grounds of obstructing
justice. Sat. film of Indians claiming victory as Justice
announced road blocks pulled down altho Grand Jury
proceedings begin Mon. CBS clip Sun. of AIM's Means
saying they'd "shoot to kill" any federal agents coming
into their "independent, sovereign nation.

In 1st election test since DeGaulle death in '70, the
Gaullists retained an absolute, tho sharply reduced
Parliamentary majority as they swept to clear victory
over Communist-Socialist alliance. A 60 seat advantage
for Gaullists who lost 100 members but did far better than
was anticipated. Pompidou's unusual, bluntly-worded last-
minute TV appeal to save nation from Communists received
wide note in Sun. papers here.
