DUNLOP -- Extensive consulations.
-- People in blocks don't like freeze. Consumers do.
-- Signs of dislocation are beginning to emerge.
-- Price bulge is big problem.
-- Need to get out of controls business rapidly.
-- Contracts in Calif. canneries, meat packing industry,
and automobiles will all settle without strikes.
BRENNAN -- I agree.
RN -- Going through rendering plant is worse than going
through hospitals.
-- Autos? Good.
-- HOW can labor leaders stand still for 5.5 when 9%
increase in C.P.I.
BRENNAN -- Jobs and continued pay and future security are the
reason for low number of strikes.
-- New jobs being created. Reduction in unemployment
significant in youth and blacks.
RN -- Balancing Budget.
-- South and Midwest basically in "full employment economy. "
JBC -- Unemployment rates: 2.7 in Houston
1.5 in Dallas
SHULTZ -- Youth unemployment - greatest problem as social thing,
not an economic thing.
