Crow, Tim
The reports I have been receiving about the vigorous
and effective campaign that John Rollins is waging in his
gubernatorial race have been most gratifying.
My association and friendship with him goes back to
1952 when he did such outstanding and helpful work as a
charter member of the Citizens for Eisenhower. Since
that time I have watched with great interest and satisfaction
his career as a successful businessman and a very capable
Lieutenant Governor.
There is no question but that on the basis of his tried
and proven ability, integrity and dedication he can provide

an efficient and responsible state administration for the
people of Delaware. He certainly has my wholehearted
X - endorsement
support.

MEMORANDUM
TO: RN
FROM: CKMcW Chaw
I spoke to John Rollins of Delaware
this morning and advised him that you were
unable tc call the Los Angeles Airport
Commission and put in an indorsement for his
application for a booth at International
Airport. I explained the reasons for such a
policy and the number of similar demands of
this nature which made it necessary.
"e seem quite upset and the conversation
ended before he had been com letely satisfied.
I am sure he will understand the reasonableness
of your position once he reflects a while, but
for the time being he is a little miffed.
P.S. John called back one hour later to make
SURE that we had not misinterpreted his request.
So we had a happy ending on this one, even though
he didnIt get what he wanted.

Dear John:
This is just a note to thank you for
your letter of June 4 and to tell you how much
I enjoyed seeing you again when I was in Selby-
ville for Senator Townsend's birthday celebration.
I don't often receive invitations as
tempting as your generous offer for my family
and me to stay at your guest house in Lewes
Beach. Although it does not appear likely that
I shall have many free week-ends until after
that if an opportunity presents itself we shall
take advantage of your hospitality!
With kindest personal regards to
you and your family,
Sincerely,
