I certainly would have enjoyed\nseeing you again and meeting your children when you\nwere visiting in Washington, but unfortunately upon my\nreturn from Africa the official schedule was exceptionally\nheavy and I have had to forego the pleasure of seeing\nsome of my good friends.\nI hope you will let me know the next time you and\nyour family are planning a visit to Washington so that\na mutually convenient time can be arranged for us to\nget together. It was\nnice to greet you at New Haven on Feb. 11th and receive\nyour personal congratulations, but it was such a pleasant\nsurprise to get the telegram during my installation by\nGovernor John Lodge. May I express to you my most\nsincere thanks.\nIt seems that you have led the way for Duke Law\ngrads to make their way in the world. We know of the\nwonderful way in which you are spreading the name of\nDuke Law School. We are all proud of your accomplishments.\nThe demands which are made upon your time leave\nme wondering whether you are able to lead any kind of a\nhome life.
