July 30, 1962 Dear Mendel: I want you to know how much I appreciated all that you did in my behalf during our primary campaign. Getting adequate financing is always difficult, and particularly so in a primary. That is why your support in that period, when some were waiting to see what the out come would be, meant so much to me and to the success of the campaign. The prospects are that the battle this fall will be the hardest fought in California's history. Judging from the reports coming out of Washington, the national administration has apparently decided to concentrate on our State as a major battleground. I am confident, however, that our primary cam- paign has provided us with a valuable shakedown cruise from which, working together, we can mount a determined, all-out drive which will assure victory for our statewide ticket in November. With every good wish, Sincerely, D y Mr. Mendel B. Silberberg Mitchell, Silberberg and Knupp 6399 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles 48, California
