November 29, 1960 Mr. Mendel B. Silberberg 802 North Rexford Drive Beverly Hills, California Dear Mendel: I want to tell you what a great pleasure it has been to work with you in these past months in connection with the Nixon campaign in California. It has been a great experience, and certainly one of the most pleasant and rewarding aspects of it was the opportunity of working with you. Even though the final national outcome was not what we would have hoped, there is some measure of satisfaction in the close- ness of the result and the tremendous vote cast for Our Man. Also, the result in California was very pleasing and certainly I am sure the Vice President and all of us take considerable pride and pleasure in the fact that we won his native State. Besides conveying the sincere appreciation of the Vice Presi- dent and all of us for all you did in connection with the campaign, I want to express my personal appreciation for the opportunity of serving with you. I expect to be returning to California within the coming weeks and shall look forward with pleasure to seeing you again one of these days in the not too distant future. Warmest personal regards. Yours sincerely, Stanley E. McCaffrey Executive Assistant to the Vice President
