Dear Mr. Kulka:
This is just a brief note in reply to your letter of
July 5 to the President.
The Curator of the White House has informed me
that there is no mention in the White House archives
about M. Caruso - at least in the records which are
still available. However, you might wish to check
further with the National Archives.
The White House Record Collection has not yet
been organized, so at the moment there are no
Caruso records here.
Finally, you will be pleased to know that President
Nixon has enjoyed listening to Caruso's recordings
over the years, and I am sure I speak for him in
wishing you every success in your commemoratory
program for this exceptionally gifted and talented man.
