MDT le MARGARET D. TUTWILER Office of James A. Baker III 456-6797 JAB /74, THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON March 22, 1984 MEMORANDUM FOR BILL SITTMANN T.T. FROM: T. A. D. THARP SUBJECT: New Presidential Boards and Commissions According to the permanent record of the White House Executive Clerk, in his first three years in office President Reagan established by Executive Order 26 new part-time Presidential Advisory Boards and Commissions, fewer than the 30 created by Carter in the comparable time period. Furthermore, since he took office President Reagan has abolished by Executive Order 36 Presidential Advisory Boards and Commissions. Thus, rather than increasing the number of part-time Presidential Advisory Boards, in reality Reagan has decreased the aggregate number by ten.
