The president and chief executive officer of the firm, Thomas
L. Richmond, has 20 years of public relations experience
which began in the public relations department of Pepsi Cola
Co. In 1967, he participated in launching the public

Joel A. Strasser, executive vice president and director,
Technology Group. Formerly a senior vice president of Hill

Kathleen Teichgraeber, vice president, a Smith College
graduate in 1972, was a reporter for "Women's Wear Daily" in
New York and then served as a reporter for the Gannett-owned
Westchester-Rockland Newspapers in White Plains, NY. She
received a law degree in 1979 from the University of
Connecticut, was admitted to the Connecticut bar, and
practiced in Stamford, Connecticut with a litigation firm
before joining TLR, Inc.
Donna Tasso, vice president, a Lafayette College graduate
with a BA degree in Economics and English, conducts public
relations programs for American Express, Harlequin Books, the
Harvard Business Review and Ericsson, Inc. Prior to joining

Crispin Hill Littlehales is an account supervisor in the
Technology Group, and handles public relations activities for
Kaypro Corporation, The Perkin-Elmer Corporation and LM

supervisor at Richard Weiner, Inc. and worked on the Smith-
Corona TP-1 printer and electronic typewriter efforts and on

Daniel Janal is an account supervisor in the Technology Group
and handles public relations activities for Prentice Hall
software, Kaypro Corporation, and the Interface Group. He
had been the business editor of the Journal-News, a Gannett
newspaper serving Rockland County, New York. In that
capacity, he helped to create a weekly section devoted to
computers and high technology. He had been with Gannett in a
variety of editing and reporting positions including news
editor of the Daily Item, in Port Chester, New York. He has
won writing awards from the Hearst Foundation, the National
Education Association, Florida Teaching Profession and the
Greater Orlando Press Club. He holds bachelors and masters
degrees from Northwestern University's Medill School of
Journalism.
Tom Lindon is an account supervisor in the Marketing Services
Group, handling public relations activities on Ericsson,
Inc., American Medical International, Inc., and Airborne
Freight Corporation. Mr. Lindon's expertise in public
relations lies in print, television and radio placement for
consumer product lines and business information. Prior to
joining TLR, Inc., he was account executive at Lobsenz-
Stevens, Inc., Public Relations, handling such clients as:
Schweppes U.S.A. Limited, The Nestle Company, The Singer
Company, The Bicycle Manufacturers Association and Weekly
Reader Family Software, a division of Xerox Education
Publications. Before joining Lobsenz-Stevens, Mr. Lindon was
account executive/placement supervisor at Creative Systems
Group, a marketing communications firm, serving clients such
as The Burger King Corporation, Minolta, Sikorsky Aircraft,
Executive Jet Aviation, Fisher Price Toys, Alia: The Royal
Jordanian Airline and The Steel Service Center Institute.
Laura Rzasa, account executive, handles the national platinum
campaign for Johnson Matthey, and works on the accounts of
American Express, Harlequin Books, and Harvard Business
Review. She received her bachelors and masters degrees from
the University of Cincinnati.
Denise Sposato, account executive, works on the Harlequin
Books account and supports the public relations campaigns for
Ericsson, Inc. and the Harvard Business Review. Before
joining TLR, Inc., she was manager, regional director ser-
vices and tours for The Betsy Nolan Group, a public relations
firm specializing in author media tours for such clients as
James Clavell, Sidney Sheldon and Judith Krantz.
Abbe Kirsten, account executive, has a B.A. in English from
Tufts University. Her public relations career began at The
McCall Publishing Company. Prior to joining TLR, she was an
account executive at Richard Weiner, Inc., where she launched
the introduction of Coleco's Cabbage Patch Kids. She is
presently pursuing a B.F.A. in painting at the School of
Visual Arts.
Sofia McCurdy, account executive, is active in the Perkin-
Elmer, Kaypro, and Interface accounts. She has attended
Manhattan Community College, and before joining TLR, Inc.,
was a computer operator at Richard Weiner, Inc.
Julie Eilber, account executive, works on the American Ex-
press and Harlequin Books accounts and coaches clients in
preparation for television interviews. Prior to joining TLR,
Inc., she was a producer and writer at Warner Amex QUBE
interactive cable television, and worked as a supervising
producer and talent coach at the Wall Street bureau of The
Financial News Network. She is a 1979 graduate of The Uni-
versity of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Communications.
Nydia del Rivero, assistant to the president. She has an
extensive background in government relations and media, and
is experienced in political and international public affairs.
Joy Brownstein, assistant account executive, works on the
Ericsson, AMI, and Airborne accounts. A 1984 graduate of
Brown University, Ms. Brownstein worked on several different
accounts as an intern at Lobsenz-Stevens Public Relations.
Also, for three years she implemented and coordinated state-
wide American Cancer Society Fundraisers in Rhode Island.

Dear Mike:
I understand that Congressman Charles Pashayan (Republican, 17th District,
California) has recommended to Lynn Ross Wood in the Office of Presidential
Personnel that Mr. William A. Richmond be considered for an appointment in
the Environmental Protection Agency, or possibly in another capacity else-
where depending on the needs of the personnel office. Normally, I would
write Helene von Damm about this matter. Since I have not yet met her
successor, however, John Harrington, I am addressing this letter to your
office.
I would like to give Mr. Richmond the strongest possible endorsement. I
have known him for more than 25 years and have remained in close contact
with him since we both graduated from Stanford in 1964.
Mr. Richmond is District Attorney for Tulare County and was re-elected for
a second term in November 1982. He is a registered Republican, a strong
supporter of the President, and fully endorses the President's concerns
about the environment as well as the President's domestic policies as a
whole.

discussion with me regarding Japan was both premature and
tentative. The reason I wrote was that I heard at The Carlton
Club that Ambassador Mansfield had publicly said he was ready to
come home, and I also heard that the rumor around Washington was
that Dave Abshire would be his replacement. I totally understand
how rumors get started and that most of them are just that,
rumors; but I did want you to know that the "game" had started.

person because there seems to be a subtle anti-California
attitude over there. It's as if the new Republican Governor
and his appointees to the California Arts Council are less
welcome than the former Brownies.
It just may be the typical East Coast snobery regardless of
party affiliation. I would, however, like to see our mutual
friend, Marilyn Ryan, get some recognition by the NEA.

I received the quarterly issue of the NEA's magazine, Arts Review,
and thought it was a nice publication. I am interested, however,
in some coverage of California in this publication as well as the
NEA newsletter that we receive.
Why not do an interview with the California Arts Council's new
Director, Marilyn Ryan, former Assemblywoman from Southern Cali-
fornia.
We do represent a large segment of the population out here in
California and look forward to some coverage.
The new Administration of Governor George Deukmejian seeks a
broader role for the private sector in the arts here in California
and Marilyn Ryan is the Governor's chief spokesperson for the arts.
