NOP? PHON: OLIVER NORTH
LSI
This atternoon Jerry Bremer asked INB to put together the "facts" regarding
Tranian support for terrorisa over the last 18 805. He has apparently said
that he intends to "ghoot holes" in the President's statement that they bave
desisted from such activities since the dialogue began. Charlie Allen has
prepared an assessment which he will LDX to us. I will have it sent to you
when it coses in. You shd also be aware that Bremer has pulled all his people
off all public appearances because "we cannot support a policy when we don't
have a policy. This screwed Walt Raymond, who had Brewer scheduled for an
appearance w/ one of his Pub Dips grps in Germany next week. UNODIR, I will
have Bob OF Craig take the space as Walt needs help. It wd seen to be that at
least a margin of loyalty is required in this event - even from the State Dept
- ratber than working directly against the President.
