Louis is the great grandson of David Barchrach, the founder of the family firm of Bachrach Photographers. The company has been closely involved with almost all of the great events of the foremost families in the social world, particularly New York, Boston, Newport and Philadelphia. The historical involvement of the Bachrach Family with the twenty two President's and other important families of Eastern Society. III. However, Karsh has over the years done the definitive portraits of Winston Churchill , Ernest Hemingway, Georgia O'Keefe, Robert Frost, Pablo Casals amongst others.
