Statement Regarding Meeting with
NATO Ambassadors
March 30, 1983
LOCATION:

9:30 a.m.
Guests begin to arrive the Diplomatic Reception Room and
are led up the Grand Staircase to be seated in the East
Room.
9:55 a.m.
All guests should be seated at this time.
10:00 a.m.
THE PRESIDENT arrives the State Floor via the elevator
and proceeds down the Cross Hall to the East Room where
he is announced.
THE PRESIDENT proceeds to the podium and makes the state-
ment.
10:05 a.m.
Following THE PRESIDENT'S statement, THE PRESIDENT steps
off of the platform to his right and shakes the hands of
the NATO Ambassadors seated on that half of the front row.
THE PRESIDENT then departs the East Room and continues to
the elevator.
The guests may then depart the East Room via the Cross
Hall and continue to the Grand Foyer where cottee and tea
will be served.
10:30 a.m.
All guests may then depart the Grand Staircase, Diplomatic
Reception Room.

THE PRESIDENT and President Kaunda arrive the State Floor
via the elevator and are followed by the luncheon guests up
the back staircase. THE PRESIDENT and President Kaunda
enter the State Dining Room via the Cross Hall and are
seated for luncheon.
The rest of the guests follow and are seated for luncheon.
Luncheon is served.
1:25 p.m.
THE PRESIDENT and President Kaunda proceed from the State
Dining Room to the elevator and continue to the Lower Cross
Hall. They proceed to the West Garden Room, continue down
the Colonnade and to the Oval Office where they hold briefly
until all of the luncheon guests are in position for the
departure statements at C9.
The luncheon guests depart the State Dining Room and proceed
down the Grand Staircase, down the Lower Cross Hall to the
West Garden Room, down the Colonnade, and then take their
positions for departure statements at C9.
As soon as the guests are in position, THE PRESIDENT and
President Kaunda proceed from the Oval Office and continue
to C9 for departure statements.
1:30 p.m.
The departure statements will take place.
1:40 p.m.
Following the departure statements, all guests depart.
