Dear Mr. Blackwell:
Thanks very much for meeting with our U.S. Information Agency-
sponsored Multi-Regional Group on "Citizen Involvement in
the Political Process" Thursday last. The group members found
your presentation stimulating and appreciated your willingness
to respond to their questions.
Our group members departed Washington to begin a travel program
feeling that the seminars and meetings here in the Capital had
been a valuable introduction. Of course the credit for that
goes to you and the other people here in the city who took time
to confer with them and provide so much valuable introductory
material.
With all good wishes.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr. Cattan:
Thanks very much for your help in scheduling the meeting for our
Multi-Regional Group "Citizen Involvement in the Political Process"
with Mr. Blackwell on Thursday, November 3rd, at 11:30 a.m. These
International Visitors will be in our country under auspices of
United States Information Agency as participants in the International
Visitor Program.
A list of the group members, their Escort Officers, and Project
Coordinators is enclosed. I'm also enclosing a copy of the letter
we had sent to Ambassador Whittlesey requesting a briefing by her
office for the group. I understand Ms. Fry was going to forward
this to Mr. Blackwell but copy enclosed so you will have all these
materials in one envelope.
I know our group members will be interested in a briefing by Mr.
Blackwell in the work of the Office of Public Liaison. After a week
in Washington the group will be traveling to various regions of the
United States (Boston, Grand Island, San Francisco, Tucson, Little
Rock and New York City) to observe citizen involvement in the political
process in varying size communities and regions.
Please call me at 822-8688 if you need any other information. We're
most appreciative of your help and of Mr. Blackwell's courtesy in
agreeing to meet with our visitors.
Sincerely,
Jancy Buttermark

Room 128, Old Executive Office Building

Dear Ms. Whittlesey:
We are arranging a program for a Multi-Regional Group sponsored by
United States Information Agency who will be arriving in Washington
October 30th. The group program will center around "Citizen Involvement
in the Political Process" and, after a working week in Washington,
participants will travel to various regions of our country. A list
of the participants expected to join the group is enclosed. Two
U.S. Escort Officers will accompany them throughout the trip.
During the Washington segment of the program we would very much like
to schedule an opportunity for the group members to hear about the
activities of the Office of Public Liaison and I was writing to
inquire if arrangements might be possible for the group to meet with
you or one of your assistants. Wednesday morning, November 2nd,
would be a convenient time on the group schedule but if that timing.
is not possible we could arrange an alternate period during the
week beginning Monday, October 31st.
My telephone number is 822-8688. I would be most appreciative if.
one of your assistants could call me to discuss the possibility of
arranging this meeting.
Thank you very much for your consideration of this suggestion.
Sincerely,
Nancy Buttermark
