045644 COPY CH 5100 PP012-03 October 28, 1981 PP005-06 PP005 Dear Bess and Moon: It looks like Duke is doing well. He's a good man and I know you must be happy. The enclosed pictures are of the hometown of our great-grandfather. Please note the name on the pub -- that has to be a first for a President. The little clipping indicates that the clan didn't start in Ballyporeen. - Incidentally, the picture of "Cashel" -- the ruins on the hill -- that is where St. Patrick is supposed to have erected the first cross in Ireland. Incidentally, we hail from one of the four tribes of Tara, descended from the High King of Ireland -- Cathair Ner in 200 AD. - It seems we were the defenders for a few centuries of the Gap of Glendine, a narrow pass in the Slieve Bloom mountains. Our motto was "The Hills Forever." Every now and then I'd like to take to the hills myself. By the way, our great-grandmother was Catherine Mulcahy. Mike Kinney dropped in on me the other day and today Louis Schuman came by. x Have to go now. Nancy sends her love. Love, /S/ DUTCH Mr. and Mrs. J.
