Those who place their faith in government planning would point to the present prosperity as proof that government intervention in these recent decades has been helpful to business. It is no such thing. It is only proof of the great virility of the free enter- prise system that it has been able to survive the nit- picking, the harassment, the meaningless regulations, and the regressive taxation, but it is not a virility that can survive forever.
