A FEW MINUTES AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY MORNING, MARCH 14, AN EXPLOSION SHATTERED WINDOWS AND DAMAGED THE ENTRANCE TO THE ESSO OIL COMPANY'S MAIN OFFICES IN NICOSIA. THE EXPLOSIVE DEVICE HAD BEEN PLACED IN THE DOORWAY LEADING INTO THE BUILDING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES FROM THE BLAST. THE POLICE HAVE NOT RULED OUT THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE ATTACK WAS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED, ALTHOUGH THERE IS NOTHING TO CONFIRM THIS SO FAR. FOR ANOTHER, THE PREPARATION OF THE EXPLOSIVES WAS DONE IN AN AMATEURISH FASHION THAT IS UNCHARACTERISTIC OF PAST TERRORIST BOMBINGS ON CYPRUS. 5.
