THE REPEATED RECENT AIRCRAFT HIJACKINGS REPRESENT NOT ONLY
A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE LIVES AND HEALTH OF INNOCENT
PEOPLE, BUT ALSO A DANGER TO INTERNATIONAL AIR TRAFFIC.
THIS IS GROUND FOR STRONG CONCERN.
IT IS ALARMING THAT ABOUT 40 PASSENGERS AND SERVICE
PERSONNEL CONTINUE TO BE HELD AS HOSTAGES BY THE AMAL
MILITIA IN BEIRUT, AND THAT REPRESENTATIVES FOR LEBANESE
AUTHORITIES ARE SUPPORTING THE HIJACKERS IN THEIR
DEMANDS. THE NORWEGIAN GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS IN THE
STRONGEST POSSIBLE WAY THE TAKING OF HOSTAGES, AND IT
TAKES EXCEPTION TO THE LINKAGE BETWEEN RELEASE OF SHITTE
PRISONERS IN A THRID COUNTRY AND THE RELEASE OF INNO-
CENT HOSTAGES FROM THE TWA AIRCRAFT.

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE DEMONSTRATING ITS POSITION WITH
REGARD TO THE CAPTURE OF AN AMERICAN AIRLINER IN LEBANON,
IN THE FOLLOWING TERMS:
THROUGH THE CHANNELS WHICH YOU BELIEVE APPROPRIATE, IT IS
URGENT THAT YOU DEMONSTRATE THAT THERE EXISTS FOR THE PART
OF THE GOVERNMENT OF HONDURAS A GRAVE CONCERN ABOUT THE
ACTIONS OF THE AUTHORITIES OF LEBANON, ESPECIALLY THOSE
OF THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE NABIH BARRI, WHO HAS STATED
THAT HE HAS CONTROL OVER THE AMERICAN HOSTAGES CAPTURED
IN THE RECENT HIJACKING OF THE TWA PLANE. IT IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE THAT THE AUTHORITIES OF A GOVERNMENT TAKE
ADVANTAGE OF OF THE ILLEGAL ACTS OF AIR PIRACY TO DEMAND
THAT A THIRD COUNTRY, ISRAEL, RELEASE PRISONERS IN EX-
CHANGE FOR THE LIVES AND PERSONAL SECURITY OF INNOCENT
PASSENGERS OF A CIVIL AIRCRAFT ON AN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT.

THIS ATTITUDE IS TOTALLY INADMISSABLE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL
LEGAL ORDER AND THEREFORE THE GOVERNMENT OF HONDURAS CON-
DEMNS IT ENERGETICALLY AND DEMANDS THE IMMEDIATE AND
UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF THE HOSTAGES.
THE GOVERNMENT OF HONDURAS SUPPORTS THE GOVERNMENT OF THE
UNITED STATES IN ITS JUST DEMAND AND THUS IS DISPOSED TO
SUPPORT ANY TYPE OF ACTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL
