January 31st, I visited the Bryant Electric Company
and the Perkins Electric Switch Mfg. Company. Saw Mr. Bryant
who had written making an appointment with me through Mr. Cary
of Westinghouse Lamp Company, who after a short talk referred
me to the Asst. General Manager, who I was unable to see on my
last visit, Mr. GilBert W. Goodridge. Both Mr. Bryant and
Mr. Goodridge were rather skeptical about the practical appli-
cation of luminous material to push-buttons, but are thorough-
Iy willing to market the luminous line if we can carry on experi- -
ments for them.
They have in the last three or four years spent a
great deal of money experimenting with foreign material and
had arrived at the conclusion that the price was prohibitive.
After a long talk with Mr. Goodridge, I again visited Mr.
Thomas who had been working on the luminous pendent for the
past two weeks. Mr. Thomas is very enthusiastic and he has
some very good ideas.
It is merely a matter of perfecting the proper push-
button for these people when we can practically force them into
the business.
P. M. Willis.
