Waltham Match Co. - 2 regular production for various comparisons, but as you are apparently not interested to do this, and whereas the amount of value involved is considerable - about $100. - WE think you will not misunderstand our accepting your offer to return the material. The continued indication of doubt and the persistent refusal of the Waltham Watch Company to at least make a trial of the Radium Luminous Moterial granufactured by this Corporation, is very hard to understand. This company was the first to produce Aadium Luminous material in this country, and hs had by far the longest experience, lasting over 5 period of approximately nine yeurs. In our reduction plants for refining Radium from the ore which is taken from our mining properties in Colorado and Otah, also in our chemical and physical laboratories, are men whose records of accomplishmentsand whose abilities are unquestioned, and are leaders in their subject both in Europe and this country. We offer you Asdium Luminous asterial which will apply more smoothly and which we guerantee will exceed the luminosity of the material you are using at present, and we offer you this at a price sufficiently lower than you are paying at present, 80 that the amount saved would be well worth considering. it would be easier to understand why you continue to hold out against our proposition, even under the above conditions, if it were not for the fact that the Elgin National Watch Company, and every other manufacturer of watches of all grades, and also clocks, excepting only two, are using "UNDARK" in considerable quantities. , In some cases these manufacturers are using "UNDARK" and our competitore oaterial, and wher- ever this is true, our product is now used in much the greater volume. At lar. Tyler's request, we have already submitted to you original orders from the Eigin National Watch Company, also & letter to you from ar. Hatch of that organization in regard to their use of "UN- DARK". We would bo very glad indeed to do this in 8.8 many cases as you might be interested to have us do it. It is very difficult for the writer to conceive how and why the Waltham Watch Company can continue to be influenced by competi- tive methods which are so clearly anfair as those which have been applied and which we have discussed together; also, in the face of every possible favorable argument and indication it seems almost incredible. The writer is sure that you must realize how intensely we feel, if all the circumstances are considered and especially as our de- sire for patronage by the Waltham Wateh Company is naturally very great. Very truly yours, ÚNITED STATES RADIUM CORPORATION CHD/. Sales Manager.
