Result of researches concerning MMMM A S Sochochy Strictly confidential Passing this report on nto others firbidden Researches thus far have resulted as follows : In the first place there was found one Alfred Sochocki, Born in Krzyne ( Ukraine) in 1856 ; he is ta r esident there. lived in Vienna ( XVII, Diepoldplatz 6/10 : journeyed from ther about three months ago to Galicia, where he is reported as district judge. w Then there was found one Vinzenz Sochowski, who was a cadet with the sanitary corps, but is not identical with the person sought for . The first mentioned may not be iden- tical with the person sought, but may be related, a mayter which could not be confirmed in Vienna . The person sought for is, SO far as our researches thus far indicate / the following : Serafin Alexander Seraphin Sochochy originally from Uhlanow, Galicia: about 40 years of age . His paretins have been Casiner 5 dead a long time, as the report goes His Father Ladimir S held fairly prominent official positions in various places in in Galicia : not a rich man: but ,comfortable circumstances : was held to be an honorable man . as Similar good report with his father, the son does not share He is an only son. His father wished him to study and be Turist a legal man, which would have made it possible for him, through the help of his father to find a good official position in some governmental bureau . He studied studied in Pemberg for several years in a gymnasium ((this word has the German meaning of If High School")) then for a brief period in Vienna He was palpably unfit for studying, there- -2- fore the family decided to try the army for him. He was first sent to a cadet-school in Vienna ( Neustadt ) and then to Theresienstadt in Bohemia He was no good in either place, committed various misdemeanors, had love-affairs &c. Finding no other way out, he emigrated at the age of 20. It is said that he first went to Australia, and later to America :but no definite information was gaineed on this point. A relative of the person sought, one Georg V. S. wealthy and a bachelor, who died about 12 years ago, is said to have assisted him financially at first, but denied him any further help later on. So far as one remembere the person sought for in various localities, he is pictured as a man of middle height, strongly built, blond; reported to have been a bluffer Schwadroneur (swaggerer, boaster, gas-bag ) who used very high' flown language. Nothing was found concerning his present condition or re- sidence &c II Vienna November 16th 1922. As already mentioned in the first report one Alfred Smohaja Sochacky lived here in Vienna (XVII, Diepoldplatz 6 ) who was district judge in Galicia and now holds that position in Kossow, Galicia His wifz, with whom he spent the summer, resides permanently at that address This Alfred Sochacky was born in 1856 in Stojanow, son of a Galician clergyman Stojonow is located in Bezirk Kamionka- strum. His father was hundmap captured by the Hungarians in 1915 on suspicion of being a spy: carried away and stabbed, rumor as has it. This clergyman had, beside the disti rict judge previously mentioned, several other sons. One, named Leon, was a physician in Lemberg : married, had 4 œ5 deserted children and them with the wife , emigrated alone, eith er to Argentinia or South Africa my he is about 40 years old .Owing to an earthquake in South Africa he removed to -3- New York, and wrote thence to his relatives, that he was taking a further trip on the Union Pacific R R. This was about ten years ago. Since then the family has heard nothing of him, although inquiries were made at consulates in America &c. Another son, Dyonis, who also called himself i S. Sochacky , emigrated to America 18 years ago, returned from there and is now distrift Judge in Brcezany in Ga- licia. He cannot therefore be identical withb the person sought . Neither can the Leon previously mentioned be iden- tical. He was reckless &c but he has disappeared after he deserted wife and children many years ago,i.e. since last he wrote his familty from New York . No other families Sochochy or Sochacky have been found and it is said that only one family Sochochy ( von Sochochy ) exists or existed, namely that of the Sochochy des scribed ill our first Report, who is also palpably identical with the person sought for .
