The first mentioned may not be iden-\ntical with the person sought, but may be related, a mayter\nwhich could not be confirmed in Vienna .\nThe person sought for is, SO far as our researches thus\nfar indicate / the following :\nSerafin\nAlexander Seraphin Sochochy originally from Uhlanow,\nGalicia: about 40 years of age . His paretins have been\nCasiner\n5\ndead a long time, as the report goes His Father Ladimir\nS\nheld fairly prominent official positions in various places in\nin\nGalicia : not a rich man: but ,comfortable circumstances : was\nheld to be an honorable man .\nas\nSimilar good report with his father, the son does not share\nHe is an only son. His father wished him to study and be\nTurist\na legal man, which would have made it possible for him,\nthrough the help of his father to find a good official\nposition in some governmental bureau . He studied studied\nin Pemberg for several years in a gymnasium ((this word has\nthe German meaning of If High School\")) then for a brief\nperiod in Vienna He was palpably unfit for studying, there-\n-2-\nfore the family decided to try the army for him. He\nwas first sent to a cadet-school in Vienna ( Neustadt )\nand then to Theresienstadt in Bohemia He was no good in\neither place, committed various misdemeanors, had love-affairs\n&c. Finding no other way out, he emigrated at the age of 20.\nIt is said that he first went to Australia, and later to\nAmerica :but no definite information was gaineed on this\npoint.\nA relative of the person sought, one Georg V. S.\nwealthy and a bachelor, who died about 12 years ago, is\nsaid to have assisted him financially at first, but denied\nhim any further help later on.\nSo far as one remembere the person sought for in\nvarious localities, he is pictured as a man of middle\nheight, strongly built, blond; reported to have been a\nbluffer\nSchwadroneur (swaggerer, boaster, gas-bag ) who used very high'\nflown language.\nNothing was found concerning his present condition or re-\nsidence &c\nII\nVienna November 16th 1922.\nAs already mentioned in the first report one Alfred Smohaja\nSochacky lived here in Vienna (XVII, Diepoldplatz 6 ) who\nwas district judge in Galicia and now holds that position\nin Kossow, Galicia His wifz, with whom he\nspent the summer, resides permanently at that address This\nAlfred Sochacky was born in 1856 in Stojanow, son of a\nGalician clergyman Stojonow is located in Bezirk Kamionka-\nstrum. His father was hundmap captured by the Hungarians in\n1915 on suspicion of being a spy: carried away and stabbed,\nrumor\nas has it. This clergyman had, beside the disti\nrict judge previously mentioned, several other sons. One,\nnamed Leon, was a physician in Lemberg : married, had 4 œ5\ndeserted\nchildren and them with the wife , emigrated alone, eith\ner to Argentinia or South Africa my he is about 40 years\nold .Owing to an earthquake in South Africa he removed to\n-3-\nNew York, and wrote thence to his relatives, that he\nwas taking a further trip on the Union Pacific R R. This\nwas about ten years ago. Since then the family has heard\nnothing of him, although inquiries were made at consulates\nin America &c.\nAnother son, Dyonis, who also called himself\ni\nS. Sochacky , emigrated to America 18 years ago, returned\nfrom there and is now distrift Judge in Brcezany in Ga-\nlicia. He cannot therefore be identical withb the person\nsought . Neither can the Leon previously mentioned be iden-\ntical. He was reckless &c but he has disappeared after he\ndeserted wife and children many years ago,i.e. since last he\nwrote his familty from New York .\nNo other families Sochochy or Sochacky have been\nfound and it is said that only one family Sochochy ( von\nSochochy ) exists or existed, namely that of the Sochochy des\nscribed ill our first Report, who is also palpably identical\nwith the person sought for .\nIII\n( Accompanying letter )\nViennese Internatioal Private Detective Institute . Telephone 7506.\nDear Sir : -- In the matter of Sochochy we beg to inform\nyou that no judgment for debt ( Beanstandung ) against Alexan-\nder Serafin Sochochy has been found in Vienna.
