June 18, 1924. Dr. Cedil K. Drinker, Harvard University School of Public Hoalth, 55 Ven Dyle St., Boston, Mass. Dear Dr. In order to secure from independent sources information about hoalth conditions existing in the nunerous Rediom luminous material application plants throughout the country, we are taking adventage of the cooperation of the New Jersey State Department of health. It would be vory helpful I ama sure to the Deportment to know of any final conclusions resulting from your investigation. Your preliminary report is rather a discussion with tentative conclusions based on evilence mah of which is necessarily circunstantial. I em writing, thereforo, to nsk whether you are in a position to malce any final and conclusive statements pro or con in the matber. You apparently believe that there is nothing injurious in the sinc. Oux conclusion is that there is nothing injurious anywhers in the morls, but if anything could exist it nust be in the zine, so I do not vent you to molte a definite statement that phosphorescent zinc sulphide is hamless if talcen internally in the amounts possible under prevailing conditions unless you are absolutely sure of youx ground. On the other hmd, you cazs doubtless say that the conditions of hygiene mainteined at the Plent are above the avorage, etc. Yours truly, Prosident.
