Mr. Josich Stryker,
Prudential Bldg.,
763 Broad Street,
Newarls, I. J.
Dear Mr. Stryker:
To bring our correspondence on the Carlough
situation up-to-date I first acknowledge your letters of April
9th and llth.
Dr. Drinlor having heard that Dr. Hoffman
intended to deliver a paper on Indium Necrosis before the American
Medical Association Convention this Spring, suggested the publica-
tion of a report which you have. Since we employed him and paid
for his services he is certainly not in a position to lecture or
publish independent of U.S.
I wrote him last weel suggesting a visit with
him in New York on his way to the A.M.A. Convention in Atlantic City
in May, or sooner should he be coming here. also asicing for some
X-Ray films that I thought he had. In acknowledging my letter he
does not mention coming to New York City hat if I fail to see him
here I will see him in Atlantic City.
Dr. Hoffman visited the plant last Priday morne
ing and spent some time looking at the general conditions of the
Application Department, also the Zine Mamufacturing Department.
I thinic he is rother uncertain as to his decision in regard. to the
A.M.A. paper in view of what he found. Re agreed to molce inquiry
in the luminous material industry in Switzerland and everything con-
sidered I was quite well satisfied with his attitude. Nevertheless
it might be a good idea for Mr. NeGlynn to again take up the matter
with lir. Duffield.
I am not writing to lir. MeGlynn at your request
to clear all correspondence through your office.
Inclosed is a letter from Dr. W. Gilman Thompson
and a copy of my reply. Mr. licGlynn is considering an arrangement
to have liss Carlough go to the Reconstruction Hospital in New York
for treatment. I should think that the Insurance Company would wel-
come this opportunity oven though there would be some expense in-
volved. In any event I think Dr. Thompson should be present when an
examination is made.
