Mr. Josiah Stryker,
c/o Lindabury, Depue & Faulls,
Prudential Building,
763 Broad St.,
Newark,
N. J.
Dear Mr. Stryker:
Since our last evening meeting, I have not been able
to see Dr. Field, but hope to meet with him very soon.
In the meantime, however, I had a talle with Dr. Reitter
of Bast Orange.
He is interested in the situation at the Plant because
he
is
a
Radizun
specialist and worla quite extensively with our reserve
stock of Element.
Dr. Reitter suggested that we get in touch with a
Dr. Robert Ives of the University Hospital, Philadelphia, Dr. Ives is
a dentist of wide reputation and according to Dr. Reitter's information
he has inspected one of the cases of mouth trouble and has some rather
definite opinions that Reitter thinks would benefit us.
He also suggests that if no one has secured the
assistance of Dr. Martland, pathologist at the City llospital, Newark,
that it would be well to do so. Reitter, however, suggested that
tre
did not approach Martland direct, but allow him to malce inquiry which
he is doing.
Yesterday afternoon I received a visit from
Carroll M . Salls, Ph. De, New Yorl State Department of Labor. He wented
to ascertain the chemical nature of luminous material. lle says that
there was an operator at the Ansonia Clock Company in Brooldlyn who reported
suffering from Radium, but it apparently was a case of norves resulting
from the recent jublicity. The Ansonia people told him that she had a
sore throat.
Sails also said that he had an indirect report of a case
of jaw necrosis recently in one of the watch factories in the Connecticut
Valley.
I will try to run this dom and get details, if any.
I presume that the asse wasnot brought forward at the
hearing last Saturday since I have heard nothing from you or lr. MeGlyn.
Yours truly,
President.
ARoeder-HI
P. S. Dr. Reitter is quite sure that the dentist at the University Hospital
is Dr. Ives although it may be Ivey.
