Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Haley Fiske, President WADE WRIGHT, M.D. ASSISTANT MEDICAL DIRECTOR New York City June 29, 1925. M.Roder Roder Mr. Harold B. Viedt, Vice-President and Gen. Manager, United States Radium Corp. East Orange, N.J. Dear Mr. Viedt:- I am at present engaged in preparing an article on mortality and sickness among physicians and the allied professions to be published in the International Encyclopedia of Health, which is being brought out by the International Labour Office at Geneva, Switzerland. Inasmuch as one of the important ways in which the health of physicians is affected is through injuries due to their work with X-rays and radium, I am anxious to collect the most up-to- date data on the causes and symptoms of such injuries. Noting in the current press considerable comment on the unfortunate death of one or two of your employees alleged to be due or in part due to the handling of the product, it occurred to me that you might be willing to furnish me with some exact information in regard to the situation. This information is of great interest and value to me also in my work in industrial hygiene, and since I am aware that you have undoubtedly given the matter some study any facts that you may be kind enough to let me have I shall deeply appreciate. Sincerely yours, Wadr Wayled Wade Wright, M.D. Assistant Medical Director In Charge of Industrial Hygiene
