Gentlemen:
I have been consulted by the family of Helen E. Quinlan
who was employed by your company during the year 1922 and who
contracted an illness which resulted in her death in the middle
of the year 1923. The symptoms and developments of her illness
were precisely the same as those in the recent cases involving
employees of yours who have died from the effects of the condi-
tions under which they were permitted to work.
The family would prefer to have the matter amicably
adjusted and do not desire the publicity or inconvenience of
litigation, so I am therefore writing you to request that you
communicate with me to discuss the matter with a view toward
a settlement of the same, if possible.
Very truly yours,
Signed- John W.McGeehan, Jr.
