CHIEF CHEMIST
July 13, 1925.
UNITED STATES
Mr. A. Roeder,
NADIUM CORP.
U. S. Radium Corporation,
30 Church Street,
New York City, N. Y.
My dear Mr. Roeder:-
Replying to your good letter of the 9th inst. I would
say that I had a very pleasant interview with Mr. Roach on
Thursday the 9th inst. This conference lasted so long that I
was not able to communicate with you by telephone and I came
directly home at the close of the conference.
As you intermated to me he was primarily interested
in the subject of Necrosis and I naturally could not give him
any helpful information on this subject.
I confined my discussion very largely to the chemistry
of the radio elements and the relationship which they bear to
each other.
I told him of our own distressing experience for I
felt that it would be better to have him learn it from me than
from someone else and I rather gained the impression that he
appreciated my frankness as I do not believe he heard of our
case before, although in this matter I may have been mistaken.
I have just this morning received from Dr. Viol a
copy of the paper which he has written about the protection of
workers in Radium, etc. I presume Dr. McCoy has told you of
this as he wrote me about it and suggested my obtaining a
copy. I shall be glad to discuss this matter with you at your
convenience and shall be in New York on Wednesday afternoon, July
22nd. If you could see me for a little while at that date I
should be glad to come over a little early for this purpose.
