RADIUM GORP.
Mr. A. Roeder,
Pres., U.S. Radium Corporation,
30 Church Street,
New York City.
Dear Mr. Roeder:
Enclosed herewith is my expense account for the trip I made to
attend a conference with Dr. McCoy and Mr. Barker. This account
does not include an item of $4.00 for hotel. Since I was short
on cash, Mr. Barker paid this bill and it will appear on his
expense account.
A word about the conference: We had two sessions at Dr. McCoy's
apartment, at which we snent from five to six hours. I feel that
we considered very critically and in detail all the data Mr. Barker
submitted. We arrived at substantially the same conclusionswhich
he had drawn. Both Dr. McCoy and I were impressed with the care
exercised by Mr. Barker in conducting his investigations. You have
in Mr. Barker a scientist combined with a man of affairs. In our
review of the case we took nothing for granted, and we came away
in full agreement, and satisfied that the results obtained are
reliable in every detail.
The conference discussions naturally lead to new ideas. Some new
experiments were outlined, which we hope will furnish additional
information for the service of the radium industry and the welfare
of the workers.
Please be assured that we stand ready to co-operate with you in
solving these problems to the full extent of our time and facilities.
Very truly yours,
Herman Schlundt
