JAMES E. M.TAMS BURTIS S. HORNER October 15th, 1925. GTATES 2628 A. Roeder, Esq. c/o United States Radium Corporation, 30 Church Street, New York City. Dear Mr. Roeder:- I have your letter of the 14th inst. enclosing letter from Dr. Flynn and also from your Mr. Barker. These disclosures with regard to the attitude of Dr. Martland are very disturbing. I regard it as of the utmost importance to secure copies of Dr. Martland's paper as soon as possible, to distribute such copies to our experts and then have a conference with them. I note that Dr. Flynn is preparing to conduct ad- ditional investigations and I think it is very desirable that he do so. Some time ago I saw in the Newark Evening News that Margaret Carlough had left the hospital. If this is true, I do not believe it is possible to secure any specimens from her for our tests and I doubt if we could secure them if she were still at the hospital. I have, however, sent copies of Dr. Flynn's and Mr. Barker's le tters to Mr. McGlynn and have suggested that he take up this matter with the hospital authorities. I think that we should make another ef- fort to secure the specimens which Dr. Martland promised us. This, in my judgment, should be done either through Dr. Righter or Dr. Washington. I am suggesting to Mr. McGlynn that he take the matter up with Dr. Washington. Dr. Martland's testimony, whether right or wrong, will undoubtedly have great weight with an Essex County jury
