CABLE ADDRESS BELL-GLOUCESTER 166 AND167 " WELSBACH" TELEPHONES KEYSTONE - MAIN 3880 3881 & 1539 GLOUCESTER CITY LIEBER WESTERN UNION OR AB C.CODE EASTERN - GLOUCESTER 59 STANDS FOR GENU NE Moksbach Company OUR TRADE MARK ON EVERY BOX Sidney. Mason, City Aj RECEIVED FEB 16 1925 President. I. February 13, 1946 United States Radium Corp. the 30 Church St., New York City. Att: Mr. A. Roeder, President States Refina Corpassion Dear Mr. Roeder : Your favor of the 5th instant received. Was there any post mortem made to ascertain the cause of Dr. . Leman's death? Was this carried to the point of ascertaining the presence of radio-active material? I quite agree that the law excludes compensation in the Buckley case, and the same motive governed us as yourself in continuing payment of salary to the widow for a limited period. The circunstances surrounding the Buckley case never con- vinced me that mesothorium had anything to do with his death. He had not been exposed during a period of eight months, as our operations during that interval were totally suspended. When he resumed, his exposure was to minimum grade material, and covered a period of about three or four months before he complained of any illness, and which complaint arose follow- ing his being vaccinated. It was a month or six weeks after his vaccination that he was taken to the hospital, and pre- ceding his vaccination he was in his usual health, which was, to all appearances, sound as a dollar. Yours very truly than President. OÁS STA II WE ASSUME NO RISK OF DELAYS DUE TO FIRES, STRIKES, DIFFERENCES WITH EMPLOYEES, BREAKDOWNS OF MACHINERY, DELAYS OF CARRIERS, WAR RISKS AND OTHER CONTINGENCIES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
