Mr. B. S. Daniells,
c/o Ingersoll Watch Co. Ltd.,
Ingersoll House,
Kingsway,
London, W. C. 2,
England.
Dear Mr. Daniells:
The latest flare-up in the anti-radium propaganda
is the one to which you refer in your letter of April 16th and
certainly is king of them all for size, audacity, untruthful-
ness, and meanness. Quite naturally it has been a source of
distress to our company and to me personally, and if I thought
there was a foundation of fact, things would be discouraging indeed.
On the other hand, letters such as yours of the 16th, one recently
received from Mr. Chase of Waterbury, and a number of others from
our good friends, go a long ways to counteract the natural feeling
of depression.
Since writing you last on the situation, Dr. Flinn
has been given access to the plants of the Radium Dial Company which
will add to the data already collected examinations in various other
application plants throughout the country. It will delay the final
publication of his paper for a week or two, but I think will make it
more valuable.
Thanks again for your thoughtfulness in writing on
April 16th.
Cordially,
ARoeder-HM
