Inclosed herewith you will find an article entitled
"Radio Active Vaterial an Industrial Hasard?", by Dr. Proderick B. Flimn,
Ph. Des Assistant Professor of Physiology in Industrial Hygione, Collega
of Physicions and Surgeons, Columbia University, trests of the
so called "radium necrosis* or radium poisoning cases. The investigation
by Dr. which formed the basis of lis article, has boen by far the
most thorough and far resching work undertaken on this subject. This
article will appesce in one of the early isstes of the Journal of the
American Medical Association.
While it seema that the charge of Fradium peisoning
caused the death of sevorel girls (which charge was willozy advertised
through the press a fow monthe ago) is entirely infounded, we naturally
hocitate - further investigation - to malce the troad statement
that radium in luminous saterial is unhannful, although we believe this
to be the case. Theroforo, in crder to be on the safe side, to caution
you, if you have not alroady dono 30, to ordoz your oporators not to
point their ayplication brushos betreen their lipe.

on the subject, we shall be glad to pass it along to you.
