June 15th,1927. Dr. Herbert N. McCoy, 1623 Hyde Park Blvd., Chicago, Ill. Dear Doctor McCoy: We were much pleased to receive your card from Panama, and hope that your trip was a most enjoyable one. We are now in a position to use some of the mesothorium which you have on hand, and suggest that you send along at your earliest convenience, one of the tubes of lot #43. If it would be any special accommodation you might send along the complete lot, which we understand runs from 210 to 222 milligrams. According to our records this was sealed in February 1926, and of course has not run the two year period for maximum radio-activity. In view of this and since we will be obliged to use this at once without waiting for proper aging, we wonder if you would not be willing to make allowance for the lack of aging in the price. We have been paying you $37.60 per milligram for two year old stuff based on measurements 40 days after sealing, which would mean that a correspond- ing price for this should be approximately $33.50 per milligram. We should like your reactions on this matter, but in the meantime you may send along the mesothorium at your earliest convenience. We are in a position to send you a check in payment upon receipt of the material and the invoice. Trusting this finds both you and Mrs. Mc0oy in good health, we are Very truly yours, President.
