7510 ACCIDENT AND LIABILITY DEPARTMENT ætnalife INSURANCE COMPANY THE AETNA CASUALTY AND SURETY COMPANY AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COMPANY NEW YORK OFFICE OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT. TELEPHONE BEEKMAN 9000 MORGAN B. BRAINARD, PRESIDENT. JOHN TURN, VICE PRESIDENT-GENERAL MANAGER In reply refer to: .Merchant CLAIM DEPARTMENT BURTON E. EMORY, MANAGER 100 WILLIAM STREET, LEE G. INGRAHAM, ASST. MANAGER NEW YORK, N. Y., RECEIVED July 20th, 1927. MR. C. B. LEE, PRES., U. S. Radium Corporation, 30 Church Street, New York, N. Y. Dear Sir:- Re: 1-C-342665-Katherine Schaub vs Radium Luminous Materials Corp. of Del. 1-C-341647-Grace Fryer vs Ditto. Referring to the above captioned cases, you have previously been advised that we are forwarding them to our attorneys, Messrs. Collins & Corbin, of Jersey City, for attention. The complaints in these actions allege that the employment of the plaintiffscovered a period of years. Our records indicate that our policy covering the Radium Luminous Materials Corp. of Delaware was only in effect for one year, i.e., from August 20, 1919 to August 20, 1920. Under these circumstances, we suggest the ad- visability of notifying the companies carrying your compen- sation insurance prior to our policy and also those covering after our policy expired. We feel that they should stand a proportionate share in the cost of the defense of these ac- tions and, of course, in the event that it is proven that the disease was not contracted within our policy period, we would not be liable for any verdict which might be rendered. Yours very truly, JEM: MG Bankow Emony
