l. From April. 2, 1917 to Jamazy 1, 1921, the 68-
fendant, United States Redium Corporation was a corporation
engaged in the extraction and menufnoture of redionotivo
and the of roduots of the saia radio-
aotivo aubotazoes 202 consezoini purnoses, having principal
place of buoinesa at the corner of A3don and Higir Street in
the Gity of Orange, County of Casex and State of Now Jorney.
3. Sald redicactive mustances which were radium,
nesothroium and thorium-x are highly Gangezous substances
and injurious to the humas body when brought into olose
proximi by therewith as those in charge of the defendant's
operations woll Jenew.
3. The defendant well Inowing the dangerous nature
of the said radiosativo aubotances falled to Jreep the camo
in eontrol but waa nogligent in allowing the dangerous
mastances to escape and come within close proxinity vi th
the plainties's person where the anid plaintiff wea lawdully
entitled to be und the maid dofendant wa nogligent in that
it and negligently placed saia substances DO that
the plaintiff was exposed to the penatrative rays of the
