during which time the complainant was exposed to said radio-
active substances, knew of the dangerous and lethal nature of
said radioactive substances but nevertheless, directed the
complainant to be exposed to said Gangerous substances. Know-
ledge in the matter of radionctive aubstanees always has been
and still is esoteric and confined to a limited number of
students and experimenteri which number, howevor, is to be
included those in active charge and control of the defendant
Corporation which advertised in mediesl journala and elsewhez
that its laboratories and work in this field were foremost in
the world and offered courses for advancement for those inter-
ested in these subjectso whenocomplainant and ber 00-workers
began to feel the ill offects of their contact with said radio
active substances, the defendant Corporation denied that it
had caused the illnesses of complainent and others and the sal
defendant Corporation, although knowing that it was the cause
of illnesses to complainant and others, endeavored to conceal
from the complainant and hor co-workers the true osuse of the
bodily illnesses. Said concealment by said Corporation was
manifested in several ways. Defendant Corporation, although
knowing the situation, delayed and impeded proper investigatic
of the conditions at the defendant's plant although its em-
ployees were falling sick, until strongly urged to do 80 and
great preseure was brought to bear. Final ly, to offset threal
ened exposure, the defendant Corporation employed a ekilled
investigator to investigate into conditions at its plant. wher
the rosult of suid investigation with even part of the import.
ant and operativa facts com ealed for the benefit of the de-
fendant Corporation resulted unfavorably to said defendant
Corporation, said Corporation endesvored to suppress the pub-
lished report of aaid investigation for which it had paid and
