COLLINS & CORBIN COUNSELLORS AT LAW RECEIVED OCT CLEMENT K. CORBIN ROBERT J. BAIN EDWARD A. MARKLEY DAVID A. NEWTON 1 EXCHANGE PLACE CHARLES W. BROADHURST JERSEY CITY, N. J. HOWARD F. MC INTYRE FRANK A. BOEHLER JAMES B. EMORY October 7, 1927. Fryer vs. U. S. Radium Corporation - re Maggia Dr. Flimn Columbia Josiah Stryker, Esq., Eight Prudential Bldg., James a Jobling Newark, N. J. Dr. Symmers Billinne Edwin F. Smith, Esq., 1 Exchange Place, Dr, Francis Carter mood. Jersey City, N. J. C. B. Lee, Esq., Pres't, U. S. Radium Corporation, 535 Pearl Street, New York City. Gentlemen: Mr. Raymond H. Berry, who represents the complain- ant in the above suit, informed Mr. Markley tonight that the body of Mrs. Maggia would be disinterred on Saturday, October 15, between 3:00 and 3:30 P. M., at the Rosedale Cemetery, Orange, by Undertaker Holle of Branford Place, Newark; that the body has not as yet been disinterred and that it would not be removed from its place of burial until all interested persons were present; and that he expects to have on hand to conduct his investigation and examina- tion, including the autopsy, Dr. Norris, Dr. St. George and Dr. Getler, all of Bellevue, we believe. Mr. Berry is willing that we should have our experts and representatives present at the same time, and he suggests that we arrange with him for a meeting place for our respective representatives so that they all can go together to the cemetery. Mr. Markley will not, of course, be present as he expects to be out of town practically all of next week on the trial of three cases in Somerville before Judge Lawrence. Mr. Markley therefore suggests that Mr. Lee make the necessary arrangements direct with Mr. Berry for the attendance of our representatives. Mr. Markley also suggests that it might be wise for some representative of the United States Radium Corpora- tion to make a little investigation in advance at the cemetery to see what activity, if any, has been carried on with respect to hav- ing the body disinterred. Mr. Berry seems not only willing but anxious to have our representatives present and we would not be surprised if something has already been accomplished with respect to having the body disinterred. It may possibly be that it has al- ready been disinterred and perhaps again returned to its burial place. This investigation could be made by a representative of the Aetna, but in view of Mr. Lee's familiarity with the matter, it Messrs. Josiah Stryker, Edwin F. Smith and C. B. Lee, #2. might be better for him to designate some one whom he can more fully instruct as to what ought to be accomplished. Very truly yours, Collers Corlen EAM:0
