Chicago January 10, 1928 EOEIVED IAN 14 1928 U. S. Radium Corporation C. B. Lee, President 535 Pearl Street C New York, New York Dear Mr. Lee: LUMINOUS I had expected to write you sooner in respeetal CORP. to Mesothorium. When Dr. Barker was here a few weeks ago we talked over the possibility of your taking this com- pany's crude Mesothorium and it is my opinion that Dr. Barker thought you might be able to take a sufficient quantity of this material so that you could work it up on a practical scale and thereby get a more definite idea regarding the whole matter. We now have a Bromide Solution ready for the first crystallization in sufficient amount to yield thirty- five or forty milligrams of Mesothorium. I would like to offer this material to you in the form of Bromide Crystals which would contain very little in the way of impurities excepting, of course, Barium Bromide. We could ship this material to you in one gallon glass jars such as we use for the shipment of Thorium Nitrate. These jars are packed in such a way as to insure safe carriage. At the time of my conversation with Dr. Barker I suggested a price of $20.00 m g. for the Meso. If you can see your way clear to take this small lot of crude Meso. at this latter price, we will be very glad to have you do so and we will be able to ship the material in about a week or ten days. We would expect your Company to determine the amount of Meso. contained in the entire shipment by the methods which Dr. Barker described to me. It seems to me personell that there should not be any
